Huffman Educates Listeners on How She Turned $27K into Over $2M Worth of Free Advertising
Boise, Idaho, July 10, 2023 — Tuuti’s very own visionary and CEO, Shawnda Huffman, was featured on the Something Businessy Podcast in May 2023. Huffman’s dynamic background as a radio host for over 20 years and a podcast host has led her to be an industry expert in the field of marketing and creative communications.
From her years of extensive experience and expertise, Huffman educates listeners about unraveling the strategies, tactics, and collaborative efforts that drive successful PR and marketing campaigns. This includes her past endeavors at a local gut health company where she was the vision behind the iconic “Yay! I Pooped Today” marketing campaign.
Huffman says, “‘Yay! I Pooped Today’ was the PR campaign that put us on the map. We put some humor into a health supplement and showed people that vulnerability about drainage is normal. We had about a 25K investment in marketing efforts and in return gained about 2M in free advertising at the end of the campaign. From then on we were featured in national creative awards, the cover of the Idaho Statesman, KTVB, and more.”
During the podcast, Frannie Wilson, CVO for Ampersand Studios and Host of Something Businessy Podcast, specifically asked Huffman about her experience with billboard campaigns. Wilsons says, “Honestly billboards would be the very last thing I would recommend to someone.”
Huffman then dives into how billboards are still relevant to modern day marketing. She explains, “Billboards are not going anywhere and they are going to come back bigger and better. Digital marketing is getting oversaturated. It’s all about being different.”
The podcast, Something Businessy, began with two business partners, Frannie Wilson and Nichole Schoener. They talk all things branding, business, and life as creative entrepreneurs, moms, and friends. The podcast facilitates candid conversations about growing a business, tips and tricks, and of course, the triumphs and challenges of scaling a business.
